The 1^st World Conference on the Mediterranean Diet organized by the International Foundation of Mediterranean Diet was held on July 6-8 2016. Opening remarks delivered by Prof. Antonia Trichopoulou, President of Hellenic Health Foundation and member of the Conference organizing committee. A session on "Assessing the adherence to the Mediterranean Diet: Building a scoring approach" organized by the HHF in the context of the Conference. Prof. Trichopoulou chaired the session and Christina Bamia, PhD Associate Professor at the University of Athens Medical School and HHF collaborator was among the speakers.
