EFSA - Dietary monitoring tools
Dietary monitoring tools for risk assessment
The analysis of dietary data collected by the EU Member States for risk assessment purposes is among the mandates of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The harmonization of data collected at a national level is therefore a pre-requisite in order to undertake between-countries comparisons. In this context, the “Dietary monitoring tools for risk assessment” project aims to critically evaluate the dietary assessment tools applied to large-scale studies in Europe (in terms of detail and accuracy of the collected dietary data) and to assess the effect of measurement error inserted through the characteristics and procedures of each assessment tool.
The EFSA - DIETARY MONITORING TOOLS FOR RISK ASSESSMENT project is coordinated by the Hellenic Health Foundation; main collaborating centres: Institute of Food Research, Norwich, United Kingdom, part of the Quadram Institute and Institute for Medical Research, Centre of Research Excellence in Nutrition and Metabolism, University of Belgrade, Serbia.
